Victory Behind Bars In Masindi Prison

by Jimmy on February 3, 2010

On the way to Murchinson Falls Game Park the team stopped at Masindi Prison.

A former prisoner in Luzira Prison in Kampala and Bible Way student, Kenneth, moved to Masindi in the summer and began to minister to men and women there. Kenneth receives no salary or benefits for his work. It is truly a work of love, and how God has blessed! Over 150 prisoners prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior while the team was with them.

Kenneth will follow up with these men and women and enroll them into Bible Way. Pray for Kenneth and for the men and women in Masindi Prison.

These pictures were taken by the welfare officer of the prison and graciously sent to us. I hope you enjoy them.

Bible Way Correspondance Course has made such a difference in the behavior of the prisoners that the authorities have made it a valuable part of their rehabilitation program. Thanks for your support.

2010 Target

by Jimmy on January 13, 2010

As we start 2010 our Uganda team has set some big goals for the year. BUT, our Lord can far exceed them. Here are the goals they have set out to achieve this year.

To plant 20 churches in and around Kampala. This year we have a goal to start Bible Way Clubs in 9 new high schools.
To share the gospel and take Bible Way to 7 new prisons.
To engage 3 new security guard companies with the gospel and Bible Way.
To win 3500 people to Jesus Christ and enroll them into Bible Way for discipleship.
To give away at least 150 Bibles a month to new believers who complete the first 5 books of the Bible Way Discipleship Course.
To baptize more than 150 new believers. (This number would be much higher if we had a church building with a baptismal pool with water actually in it in each community, or even a pool of fresh water in the communities, or flowing water within walking distance, or people who owned their own land so we could dig holes to fill with water, or people with money to pay for the transportation cost to carry them to Lake Victoria. But since we have none of these, baptism is real challenge.)

Volcano Erupts Near Goma

January 7, 2010

Rusty Pugh, IMB missionary, sent me this picture. We were in Goma in December 2008 to train the pastors who are working with the rebel soldiers in the mountains outside the city. These mountains were calm at the time, but the threat of volcanic eruption is always real. The city of Goma is covered with [...]

Laughter AFTER Tears

Sarah, Abraham’s wife, knew what tears, frustrations, heartaches and depression were. That was her life.
No. She did not have a bad life. In fact, she had a very good life. A rich husband, servants, everything she wanted or could ever [...]

2009: A Banner Year!

December 16, 2009

Hard to believe that 2009 is 16 days (counting today) from being history! But it is.
As we head into 2010, we are facing economic, political and spiritual storms of enormous magnitude in our country. My hope for my family and IMFC for 2010 and beyond is rooted in the scriptures! Proverbs 10:25 says,
“When [...]

The growth in the High School Ministry in Kampala is beyond our dreams. In fact, IMFC NEVER planned to have a ministry in the public High Schools of Kampala, Uganda. But God had plans. Plans we did not know about. But plans that He has brought to life.
The High School Ministry begin last fall, [...]

A Pre-Thanksgiving Letter

November 18, 2009

Three years ago IMFC worked in Natete. Last month Douglas revisited the area to see how some of the former Manna recipients are doing as we are planning on returning to Natete in February 2010.
Here is a report that he sent me. I thought you might enjoy reading it as well. It has certainly [...]

Online Church: Church or NOT Church. What Do You Think?

November 16, 2009

Just read this article on CNN website, “Online churches draw believers, critics.” I thought you might like to read the article and express your thoughts.
For what it’s worth this is not a problem in Kampala, Uganda, or DR Congo where IMFC works. Here’s the article from the CNN. Click here to read on their site. [...]

“Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.” Matthew 1:19
