“Clean” Drinking Water Coming Soon To Kinshasa!

by Jimmy on August 19, 2009

RustyIMFC has had the privilege of working with Rusty Pugh in Goma ministering to Rebel soldiers. Now, we get to help in Kinshasa.

The Project: Bring “Clean” Drinking Water to Kinshasa AND the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Here is the plan. Rusty is building a water filter plant in Kinshasa to produce ceramic water filters that will be given to people in Kinshasa. Rusty will have helpers who will go to the homes of the people that receive the filters to show them how to use the filters. In the process, they will be able to share their faith in Jesus and the Gospel. It is our prayers that the Lord will bring many to saving faith in Jesus Christ and start many new churches through this ministry. PLUS, we pray that many will overcome the diseases associated with drinking unclean, contaminated water.

Kinshas Water Filter PlantThe Baptist Global Response group is funding much of this project. It is our joy to be able to partner with them and Rusty by supplying the funds to purchase the land for the factory and to help Rusty travel to Cambodia to pack supplies for the project.

A volunteer group from the US spent a week with Rusty building a structure for the factory. Pray for this work as it moves forward. Rusty’s hope is to be able to start production of the filters in the spring of 2010.

It’s great to see a plan come together!
