Welcome to the new IMFC M938 Blog. This blog has been a long time coming, but there was much we had to learn about this whole web2.0 world. So, hopefully after all the time we have spent developing this site, you will spend a little time here. We want you to communicate with us. Post your comments. Let us know what you think. If you have suggestions on how we can improve this blog, please let us know. Now, I warn you, at first most of these posts will have to do with our work in Kampala, but as we move forward it is our intent to embrace God’s global activity. In Matthew 9:37-38 (M938), Jesus said to his disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Our goal is to be a part of the fulfillment of the Lord’s prayer. We want to go. We want to be involved. We do not plan to send others while we stay at home. Our passion is to be in the middle of the harvest. Then, we want to encourage and expose others to the Lord’s field. Not only to what we are doing, but what others are doing and how God is blessing. It is our prayer that the Lord of the harvest will use this blog to help accomplish this.
Below are a couple of posts with links to pages covering my recent trip to Uganda. We have incorporated videos and pictures to tell the story. I hope these will be a blessing to you as we begin this journey together. I also have a link to a brand new Smugmug gallery. Many have encouraged me to do this over the past few years and for some reason I never did. Well, I have begun and will be updating these galleries often so be sure to look there frequently.
Now for a confession, I am not a writer. I do not like to write. It takes me hours to write a simple paragraph. I love to speak. Maybe that’s why the Lord called me to spend over 30 years in the pastorate. So please overlook the flaws in my writing. There will be many. I ask you to catch my heart, the heart of IMFC and the heart of this site: a passion to see the Lord’s work reach all people around our vast world. If that is not your passion I pray that it will be.
Jimmy
