Life. Purpose. Hope. Easter!

Pam and I wish you and your family a very, very happy and blessed Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ this weekend.

Three words come to my mind as I head into the Easter weekend: Life, Purpose and Hope.

Life.

Easter is the celebration of life. Jesus Christ arose from the dead and life reigns. Sin has been defeated. The grave and death has been conquered. Life reigns in Jesus and we can experience it! We no longer have to be subdued and held down by Satan, sinful habits and guilt. When we are in Christ, His life reigns in us. His resurrection power is in us setting us free. That’s what I celebrate this weekend and actually every day of my life now.

Purpose.

Easter is the celebration of purpose. I have a reason to live and to look forward to living another day, another year. I am not just spending my life in limbo awaiting the day of death and my entrance into heaven. I am a follower the risen Lord Jesus Christ in a dark world under the influence of Satan. His mission and purpose is mine. I have been sent into this dark world with a message that can change lives because it is infused with power from the living Christ who has all power in Heaven and Earth. I am His ambassador. I am His representative. His light is me. Everyday and everyplace is a day and a place it can be seen and felt. I have a purpose. I have a reason to live. That’s what I celebrate this weekend and actually every day of my life now.

Hope.

Easter is the celebration of hope. HOPE is not wishing. I have been redeemed trough the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I am an ambassador of the risen King, Jesus Christ. I have an eternal place in His Kingdom. I am looking forward to a new world where Christ reigns, sin has never entered and I have the opportunity to serve Him in that world somehow, someway! In that world, I will enjoy a new body without the limitations and faults of this one. This is not a wish. It is not a dream. It is reality. This will happen because Jesus Christ lives. He arose and upon His resurrection all my hope rest. That’s what I celebrate this weekend and actually every day of life now.

This weekend, culturally, I will celebrate Easter by having a meal with my family, hunting Easter Eggs and eating Chocolate. This weekend, religiously, I will celebrate Easter by going to church with my wife and worshipping the Lord with a large group of people. All this is good, but this weekend, and actually every day of my life, in my heart, I will thank the Lord Jesus for the Life, Purpose and Hope that He has given me and find ways to live it out.

Have a great Easter. Enjoy your family. Have a meal together. Hunt Easter Eggs. Also, find a Church to worship the Lord with others. And in your heart, examine yourself. Do you have His life? Does His purpose direct your decisions? Does His hope provide an anchor your life? If so, find ways to live it out. True worship and thankfulness is revealed as you live for Him in your everyday life.

Easter happened one day, but it changes everyday. Celebrate Him this weekend and everyday!

God bless.

Jimmy
