Of the 14.6 million, Ethiopia and Somalia comprise a large number of the needy…”
Besides Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia, other states making up the Horn of Africa are Uganda, Eritrea and Djibouti.
“Of the six countries, Ethiopia is the most affected with about 4.6 million people in need of food aid, an increase of 2.2 million between January and March this year.
“Accute diarrhoea, meningitis and measles have compounded the situation. At the same time inflation of food prices has reached 29.6 percent…”
I know we may have problems in the US, but we know nothing of the problems that face the majority of people in the world. Be in prayer for these countries caught in this food crisis. And give the Lord a word of thanksgiving for the abundance that we have.
