On Friday, August 14, 2009, IMFC will begin its fifth year of ministry in a slum called Mulago.
Mulago is located in Central Kampala about 15 – 20 minutes drive from Kampala city center. Mulago is one of the few slums in Kampala that sits up high on top of a hill. Normally, the slums are located in valleys that flood during rainy season. It has a population of about 4000 people. The main inhabitants Bafumbira (people from Kisoro) and Batooro (people from Kyenjojo, Fort Portal, Kabarole.) Most men in Mulago are hawkers (they move from street to street selling shoes) while women are involved in petty trade. Like any other slum, people in Mulago are struggling with false religions, drunkenness, witchcrsft, etc.
How to Pray:
• Men in this area can only be seen in the morning. From 11:30am, they begin to around the city selling their commodities (shoes) to their customers.
• Pray for wisdom and strength as we feed the people and carry out church planting.
• Pray against the strongholds of false religions, witchcraft, drunkenness, etc
• Pray for the house church planting movement to be successful in this area.
• Pray for leaders to rise up from within the community especially men!
